United States Marine Corps 234th Birthday

Today is the 234st Birthday of the United States Marine Corps.

If you've read my blog for awhile, you would know that I met Angry Husband while he was in the Marine Corps. I was just an eighteen year old girl, on a night out with my wild sorority sisters. Who would have thought, fifteen years later, we are still putting up with each other.

I endured two six-month deployments while he was on Active Duty. We were only able to attend one Marine Corps Birthday Ball. I was trying to find the pictures from that, but it's a no-go. Ever other year, he was deployed during the Annual Birthday Celebration.

To the Marines, Past and Present-HAPPY 234TH!

Text Message of the Day: Legos

From Angry Husband:

"Kid comes in and says his nose hurts. I ask why and he says because there is a Lego stuck up there. I asked why it's in there and he says, cause it fit at first."

The Muffin Man

On Monday night, Angry Husband went on a rampage in the kitchen. I think he was looking for something in the pantry. Our pantry is poorly designed. It's deep and things go lost. Yea, perhaps he found some expired bread and rolls. Sorry, but sometimes it gets lost.

He removed everything and went through it all. You should see our trash can, gross. After all was said and done, he pulled out a bunch of bread and muffin mixes. He said, "make these". That was on the top of my list at 7pm, after working all day. So what does he do? He starts making chocolate chip muffins. I was laughing. He's usually the cook, so this is nothing new. But I almost wanted to put an apron on him.

Angry Toddler was very excited about the pantry clean-up. He immediately started digging in.

Theme Park Week

Angry Husband has been on vacation this week. It was completely last minute so we had nothing planned, yea really, we have no money to do anything. We have passes to Disneyland, so Angry Husband and I headed there. We went to Disney's California Adventure first. You can tell a true Disney Geek, because we were excited by all of the construction. Angry Husband made me take several pictures of the construction. It's amazing how much is going on.

After touring through California Adventure, we headed over to Disneyland. We mostly walked around and toured the shops. That's what you can do when you are kid-free and have Season Passes.

On Wednesday, we headed to SeaWorld. I am thanking, Lorna publicly for giving me passes. I twittered about SeaWorld discounts and she let me know that she had some passes. How awesome is the power of Twitter!! We had not been to SeaWorld for about two years. So we thought we would give it a try. Of course, we picked one of the hottest days of the summer to go. We slathered on the sunscreen when we got there. Okay, they slathered on the sunscreen. I was too worried about Angry Husband and Angry Toddler getting burnt that I forgot to put some on. You can only imagine that awful "farmer's tan" I am sporting. It's awesome. We went through all of the exhibits, and sat for two shows, The Shamu Show and the dolphins. Angry Husband and I decided why we don't go to SeaWorld that often, we are not impressed. I think we are totally spoiled by The Aquarium of the Pacific. We used to have a season pass there and went like once a week. That place is beautiful. Sadly, SeaWorld is not that pretty. I now have the same opinion of Sea World as I do of Legoland, "meh, not impressed, not worth the money, and why can't they paint some stuff to make it pretty".

Yes, I got my official "Shamu" photos taken with my upgraded lens on my camera. Yes, I got some pictures of Angry Toddler, but really, give me Aquarium of the Pacific anyday, over SeaWorld. Oh, and Disneyland. I could go there every day of the week and see something different.

On Thursday night, I headed over to Disneyland with my mom, and Angry Toddler. My mom had a Disney pass that she wanted to use and suggested a trip. I agreed. Angry Husband was out hanging with his boys. Oh my, was it HOT! I think it was almost 100 degrees at 6pm. CRAZY! It was pretty quiet though. I think a lot of kids have gone back to school and people were not traveling as much. We were able to see the fireworks, and enjoy some shows. We actually stayed till closing, and the best news...my mom got a season pass. Now she can take Angry Toddler...hehehhehe.

P.S. I added the lovely title to my California Adventure pictures, because I get so many random "hits" for Disney Construction in the title!

Fifteen Years

In 1994, there was this eighteen year old girl, she was in a sorority. It was the summer after her freshman year of college. The girl and two of her sorority sisters decided to go out for some fun. This girl had just removed her walking brace from her leg. You see, the girl fell down the stairs of a Fraternity house a month before, and broken her ankle.

The girl and her friends ended up at an eighteen and over club. This club was heavily populated by Marines. Perhaps this girl knew several of the Marines at the club. Her friends paired off with some boys, and left the girl. The girl decided to talk to one of the Marine's friends. This Marine was very quiet and shy. The girl's friends ended up ditching her. Boo, hiss!! That's what eighteen year old girls do. The quiet and shy Marine took the girl home, and got her phone number. The girl never even got the Marine's name.

The girl and the quiet Marine ended up going on a double date with her friends, and the other Marines. This was fifteen years ago. This girl was Angry Julie (me). The shy and quiet Marine, was Angry Husband. Yep. We went to dinner with our friends at El Torito, a Mexican restaurant, and then hung out at the beach. I think our first date was either August 19th or 20th, 1994. I can't remember exactly. Is that bad? We dated solidly for a few months, and then he was deployed overseas for 6 six months. We wrote letters, we called each other, and we stayed together. We recently celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary.
But holy cow, I've known Angry Husband for fifteen years!!!

Planes of Fame Air Museum

Last Sunday, the boys in my household *Angry Husband and Angry Toddler" took a little trip to Chino. What's in Chino? Well there's an air museum called "Planes of Fame Air Museum". Planes of Fame is an independently operated aviation museum dedicated to collecting, restoring, and preserving aircrafts and memorabilia for educational benefit.

Angry Husband's BFF, Eric, told him about this museum. Eric went with Angry Husband and Angry Toddler. What was Angry Julie doing? Julie was sleeping on the couch, and then she went to work later that afternoon. Don't be jealous. I love touring the sites with the best of them. But walking around a tarmac in Chino, in the summer, not my idea of fun. Think hot, melting sun.

Angry Toddler fell in love when he entered the museum. This love was not any type of aircraft. Oh yes, it was a vending machine. He declared to the hubs, "my favorite".

Angry Husband said that Angry Toddler fit nicely in this B-17 Ball Turret. What the heck is a Ball Turret? A Ball Turret is a space on the bottom of a B-17 where a gunner stayed for approximately five to ten hours with tempuratures averaging 50 below. No thanks. Plus the space was really small, according to Angry Husband.

YEE-Haw, This is the bomb. Angry Toddler was riding a bomb, umm Rodeo Style?

But yes, it is an Air Museum, so you probably want to see some aircrafts, right? Here they are:

Angry Husband took like 200 photos that day. I know you want to see more. Check out my Flickr Account for the rest.

So I Married a Nerd

Angry Husband always like to remind me that I could have it much worse. He could be spending all his money on beer and strippers. Ya, not in my house. But alas, he's a nerd. Angry Husband would rather play games on the computer, watch movie previews on AppleTV, or hang out with his best friend, Eric. Eric has been around in our life since very early in our marriage. Angry Toddler calls him "Uncle Eric".

Angry Husband and Eric are mentoring Angry Toddler in all things nerd..oh yes!! Angry Toddler knows all of the Star Wars characters. He watches "How It's Made, Myth Busters, and Future Weapons". Angry Toddler would much rather hang out with them than watch cartoons.

Last week, Angry Husband put a movie called "Fan Boys" on our AppleTV. I was bored and decided to watch it. I was busting up, because really I could see Angry Husband and Eric being actors in this movie. They would fit right in.

This is what the movie is about:

It's the Halloween party they've all been waiting for, to have fun with friends and hang out with fellow Star Wars fans and partners in crime. However, events take a turn when one of their bunch who long ago outgrew his old gang and took on adult responsibilities is suddenly in their midst again. Reconnecting is not easy. But soon, Eric, Windows, Hutch and Zoe realize that Linus will not live long enough to experience what's been on their minds for ages: The long-awaited theatrical release of Star Wars - Episode I, which is still several months away. Linus once again suggests to his friends what he's been scheming since fifth grade: Breaking into Skywalker Ranch, this time to steal a print of the movie. Crazy, right? But it might be the only way for Linus to see the movie before he dies. So as insane as it sounds, they take Hutch's van and embark on a mission to drive across half the country to the Ranch.

I've gone through a lot with Angry Husband and Eric. They always have some kind of hobby that they are into; remote controlled cars, remote controlled helicopters, paintball, computer games, and Warhammer 40K. Angry Husband and Eric had ventured into the land of Warhammer 40K twice. I shall call it "hobby of summer 2009", until something else comes along. This is all they talk about.

What is Warhammer 40K?

Warhammer 40,000 (informally known as Warhammer 40K or just 40K) is a tabletop miniature wargame produced by Games Workshop, set in a science fantasy universe. Warhammer 40,000 was created by Rick Priestley in 1987 as the futuristic companion to Warhammer Fantasy Battle, sharing many game mechanics. Expansions for Warhammer 40,000 are released from time to time, often to facilitate a certain sort of game, such as Cities of Death, Planet Strike and Apocalypse, which give rules for urban, planatary siege and large-scale combat, respectively. The game is currently in its fifth edition.

Angry Husband and Eric were setting up their "game table" last week in our house. I had to "roll my eyes". I of course, grabbed my camera. Eric made some comment about asking his permission to take/post pictures. I told him that he needs to read the disclaimer. Anytime, you enter the Angry House, you are subject to being photographed and/or your conversations might end up on the blog. So of course, I started taking pictures, to show what true "nerds" they are.

But do they know they are "nerds"? YES. Eric actually texted me this: I prefer nerd, it implies intelligence. A nerd is technically the guy who does well in school and builds girl robots. A geek dresses up like a storm trooper. Eric went back to school recently and is studying engineering, go figure.

There's one thing for sure, they have never been WOW player aka World of Warcraft. It's not their thing. But, Angry Husband did send me this video the other day. I giggled because we had some issues a few years ago when he played Everquest. He told me that he was never as bad as this kid. That's up for discussion.

oh, and I told Eric about this post. He told me that I have to include this video also.

Angry Husband's Secret...shhhh Don't Tell Anyone

Angry Husband is a big fan of musicals...think "Grease". We both have some alone time right now. Also known as "Angry Toddler is at preschool, so we have peace". Angry Husband is painting his models and I'm reading my blogs, Twittering, etc.

Angry Husband has Apple TV shuffling songs. He put the "Grease" soundtrack on. Perhaps, he is correctly my singing of the songs. He's like, "Um, that's the wrong words. If you are going to sing along, please sing it right." No joke, I'm serious.

Oh, and Stacey...Don't tell him about this post. He will KILL me...Stacey and I have an inside joke about this whole obsession with musicals.

If U Seek Amy

I have always had a love for Britney Spears. I'm not hiding it. My friend, Lindsay, also loves Britney. I know that if I want to talk about Britney, Lindsay will always be there for me.

Angry Husband knows about my love for Britney also. I made sure that we had all of Britney's albums downloaded onto our itunes, last week. I even made him sync it to our Apple TV.

So Angry Husband comes home the other night and says, "Did you hear about Britney's controversial new song?" I was like no... He says it's the song, "If U Seek Amy" on the Circus CD. I don't really pay much attention to song titles. I just like what I hear. He then says, "sound it out...." Yea ok, I get it. He then tells me that it's all over the radio that some stations are banning it/and or not playing it. I said dumb..

Angry Husband thinks Britney is trashy. I still like her. But then I had to Google about the drama involved with the song. I found the following stories.

MTV
Media Channel
ACESHOWBIZ
Wikipedia
Access Hollywood

I think there are far worse things out there in the media. I'm a mother and all. But I can't stand censorship.

Of course, Angry Husband has me obsessed with this song now. I listen to it all the time. He says that he can't even get it out of his head.

Text Messages from Angry Husband

I love parenting by text message. It's quite entertaining. So I'm at a local hospital on a call from work. I'm standing there waiting with my co-workers. I suddenly feel my Blackberry vibrate and see that the text is from Angry Husband.

Angry Husband: I think we need a new rug soon... he just barfed a pile of crap like 5 times in a row...

Me: Why?

Angry Husband: no clue, he told me he was sick and gonna throw up, I told him to run to the bathroom but he stopped and threw up a ton..

Me: Ewwwww

Angry Husband: it stinks like hell too

Me: Ohhh I'm soo sorry :(

Me: 2 more days, ugh, we only need him at school 2 more days...

Angry Husband: it will be fine, hes chillin now...no milk 2 nite

Me: Yea umm gross

Angry Husband: goin to bed, lets hope for no more pukin...sorry for the smell. i did my best

Angry Toddler was a reflux baby. He has always had a real easy gag reflux. If his stomach starts hurting, even a tiny bit, he pukes. Then he feels fine. Our poor family room furniture is trashed because of this. I think we've washed the cushions on our couch at least ten times. We vow to get a new couch when he is like 5, because he still hasn't learned to run to the bathroom or ask for a bucket to puke in. He probably ate too much or something...

I can only imagine how it will smell at 3am, when I get home.

Metallica Concert

On, Wednesday, I posted a picture of the cover of Metallica's new album, Death Magnetic.

Well on Wednesday night, Angry Husband, his best friend, Eric, my pal, Monique, and I all went to see Metallica in Los Angeles. It was pouring rain. It actually poured rain all day. We were very skeptical and concerned about the traffic. We actually got there pretty fast and were all very hungry. We were not in the very best area of town, and started looking for somewhere to eat. Our only options seemed to be, IHOP and McDonalds. We settled with IHOP, and all squished into a booth there.

After eating we left to go to the concert arena. We paid $22 to park, yes twenty-two fricking dollars. We then waiting in line, in the rain, while we all got patted down and searched. Good times. We then entered the sea of black, black t-shirts that is. Everyone seemed to be wearing black.

The Sword and MachineHead opened up for Metallica. We weren't impressed. Actually, we were just trying to stay warm. The place was the temperature of an ice rink inside. Thankfully, I had my thicker jacket on.

Metallica came on stage in a blaze. They had lasers and fire in their stage show. It was quite awesome, actually. They played a ton of songs for about 2 hours. It was an awesome show. It really brought me back to the times, before Angry Toddler was born. Angry Husband and I saw Metallica together, three times before AT was born. The last time that we saw them in concert was 2004.

I went to my first Metallica concert in 8th grade. Metallica's music has been part of my life for a long time, and it has been a constant. I can recite the words to their songs, and I'm pretty sure, I have all of their albums.

I may be somewhat of a prep most of the time, but Angry Julie has her other dark side too.

And for people interested, here was the play list from the concert!

"That Was Just Your Life"
"The End of The Line"
"Creeping Death"
"Harvester of Sorrow"
"One"
"Broken, Beat & Scarred"
"Cyanide"
"Sad But True"
"Unforgiven"
"All Nightmare Long"
"The Day That Never Comes"
"Master of Puppets"
"Damage, Inc."
"Nothing Else Matters"
"Enter Sandman"

Encore:
"Last Caress/Green Hell" (Misfits cover)
"Seek and Destroy"

Pumpkin Patch

Angry Toddler, Angry Husband, and I went to the Pumpkin Patch on Saturday. We went with my BFF Stacey, and her daughter, Stella. I think we are starting a Saturday morning ritual. The kiddos had a great time. I took like 400 pictures, just trying to get one decent picture. Angry Toddler kept turning his head, or running away. I would like to get some decent pictures, just once.

Angry Toddler and Stella got to go into the bounce house and the train ride also. They really liked it. Angry Toddler kept kicking the pumpkins though. He was kicking them like soccer balls.

Here are some pictures of our fabulous Saturday morning.

Four hours later and I'm here

So last night was night 3 of working nights. I got off at 2:30, came home and went straight to bed, in ummmm Angry Toddler's bed. I know that I can better sleep when I don't have a bear, I mean my darling husband snoring in my ear..

So at 6ish something AM, I hear Angry Husband's alarm go off. Of course he hits the snooze button. Then I finally hear him get up. The man cannot be quiet. I hear him in the bathroom, then yanking his shirt off the hanger in the closet.

Then I hear it....oh nooo.. Angry Toddler is talking to him. This means, AT is up. When I was working dayshift, my mom and Angry Husband would tell me, ohh ya AT sleeps until 8:30ish. I worked nights last year and knew that was not the case with me. Sure enough, he proved himself right, he was up at 7am, wide awake.

Mommy of the Year has not grocery shopped this week. I hate the grocery store. AH mentioned the grocery issue to me last night. I ignored him. Then at about 1am, I realized, ugh, what am I going to feed Angry Toddler. So once again, Mommy of the Year, went and bought some donuts. I couldn't remember what he liked, so I bought 3 kinds.

Then I got these reponses. "I want sprinkles on it mama". Ok here is one with sprinkles. "No, I want chock-co-lot sprinkles". Umm, we don't have that. How about a chocolate donut (chocolate bar). "Ok" He then takes his finger, licks the chocolate and pushes it away. My mom says he eats this stuff for her all the time. Once again, obviously I got my fabulous parenting skills from her.

So here I am, with a total headache cause my lack of sleep. A kid who won't eat. And Noggin on 24/7. Seriously if I have to watch Max and Ruby one more time today...

Gaming Widow

Angry Husband and I argue about "computer time" every day. This is the reason he bought me a laptop. Some times, I just feel more comfortable using the desktop. One of the reasons we fight over the desktop is because he has his "games" installed on it.

YES, my husband is a gamer. His computer gaming almost caused a divorce several years ago. He was playing that game, Everquest, almost 10 hours a day. It was pre-Angry Toddler but it still pissed me off. He would ignore everything in his life to play that game. He even started calling in sick to play. And to make things worse, his best friend played it too. So both of them would make plans to meet up and play online together. It was really frustrating. They would schedule these "raids" and play all night long. Finally, we had it out one day and he deleted his account and broke the CD for the game.

Well for the past few weeks he has been talking about a new role playing game. As he would expect, I roll my eyes when he talks about it. Well two days ago, he bought Warhammer Online. He played it for a few minutes on Wed night.

But last night, I wanted to kill him. Angry Toddler was starting to fall asleep on the couch. Angry Husband puts on one of those headset things with the mouth pieces and starts yaking away. Seriously dude, you are LOUD. He was talking to one of his co-workers on it. I could hear both conversations. I gave him my Angry Julie look from the front room, he gave me another one back.

Finally, Angry Toddler fell asleep and we moved him to his bed. I told AH, "Do you realize how loud you were? This can't go on every night." Angry Husband responded, "It's the headset, I need a better one."

He doesn't get it. Thankfully, I work the next 4 nights and won't have to endure this. Poor Angry Toddler.

Angry Husband's Cousin

AH's cousin, Jackie, got married this weekend. Her wedding took place in San Gregorio, CA, which is in Northern California. Unfortunately, the Angry Family was unable to attend due to work conflicts, finances, and well, umm an Angry Toddler who likes to misbehave at weddings.

Jackie sent me a sneak peak of her wedding photographs. Her photographer, Kerry Ling, posted some on his blog. The photos are under September 13, 2008: Jaclyn and Brandon Wedding.

Jackie loves "Vintage" themes and all "Things" Vintage. I think her theme was beautiful and perfect for her.

I didn't want to steal any photographs or anything, that's why I linked the blog. But, you can click on the link, and see for yourself, how beautiful is was.

Angry Husband This Morning

I'm officially working nights now. Yesterday was my last day shift at work. Today I am off. I have a function to go to, but it's not until 8:30am. Which means I can sleep in since I don't have to be at work at 6AM!

Angry Husband had to get up early for a meeting at work. I think he was afraid he was going to be late. The man started rolling around at 4am this morning. It was not a good start.

His alarm then started going off at 5:45am. Of course he hit snooze. Then at 6am, it went off again. Snooze. Finally, I said, turn it off.

Then he started getting ready. I swear he was actually trying to be loud today.

I finally got up since I was awake already. Then the questions started.

Where are my cellphones? He has two: one for personal use, and one for work.
Have you seen my bluetooth?
Can you check the laundry for my bluetooth?

Ugh! He finally left. It's nice and peaceful.

I hope I have at least an hour of peace until Angry Toddler wakes up. That would be nice.

Building a Fort

Angry Husband taught Angry Toddler about building forts this past weekend. I guess that's what boys do. They build forts in the living room. So I came home to our entire family room couch dismantled.

I thought I would share some pictures!

Daddy Dinners

I was downloading pictures from our little point and shoot camera the other day. I saw this picture and started laughing.

Angry Husband made dinner for Angry Toddler a couple of weeks ago. He arranged all the food in a pattern. It was chicken fries and tater tots. I thought it was the funniest thing ever.

Angry Husband said, "Oh, I'm trying to make food fun for him." I immediately grabbed the camera and took a picture, cause this moment was priceless.

Edited to add...

YES! That's a Christmas plate the food is on.

Ugh, I swear my husband is deaf!!

I'm sitting here minding my own business on my computer.

Angry Toddler is napping. The husband is watching tv in our front room. If anyone knows me and my husband, you know we have a "Super" surround system.

So AH puts on a DVD. And OMG it's soo fucking loud, I can't hear myself think!

I yelled from the office, "Are you fucking deaf, dude?" "Seriously, the next door neighbors can't hear our tv."

He turned it down, but not quiet enough....

I finally asked what he was watching, but didn't really care...."300".

Ugh, I hate that movie, too much blood.

Where is it?

At least once a day, I receive this phone call from my busband, "Where is this particular item?"

Today, I received two of those calls while I was at work.

Question 1. Where is a thumb drive? Do you have a thumb drive?
Answer 1. Check the desk drawer or the linen closet in our bathroom.
Reply 1. It's not in the linen closet. Oh wait, here's one in the office desk. Oh, but's it's only 256 mb.
Answer 2. Sorry, but that's all I have. Stacey has my other one.

Ten minutes later.
Question 2. Have you seen my flashlight?
Answer 1. No. Why would i know where it is. Why don't you ask Caden.
Reply 1. What am I going to call his preschool and ask to speak to him. Hello, "Can I speak to Caden." "Hey bubba, where is my flashlight".
Answer 2. Check in the toybox.

Why am I expected to know where everything is in my house? Yes, most of the time, I do know where things are when he calls me. But seriously, I'm at work.
