Planes of Fame Air Museum

Last Sunday, the boys in my household *Angry Husband and Angry Toddler" took a little trip to Chino. What's in Chino? Well there's an air museum called "Planes of Fame Air Museum". Planes of Fame is an independently operated aviation museum dedicated to collecting, restoring, and preserving aircrafts and memorabilia for educational benefit.

Angry Husband's BFF, Eric, told him about this museum. Eric went with Angry Husband and Angry Toddler. What was Angry Julie doing? Julie was sleeping on the couch, and then she went to work later that afternoon. Don't be jealous. I love touring the sites with the best of them. But walking around a tarmac in Chino, in the summer, not my idea of fun. Think hot, melting sun.

Angry Toddler fell in love when he entered the museum. This love was not any type of aircraft. Oh yes, it was a vending machine. He declared to the hubs, "my favorite".

Angry Husband said that Angry Toddler fit nicely in this B-17 Ball Turret. What the heck is a Ball Turret? A Ball Turret is a space on the bottom of a B-17 where a gunner stayed for approximately five to ten hours with tempuratures averaging 50 below. No thanks. Plus the space was really small, according to Angry Husband.

YEE-Haw, This is the bomb. Angry Toddler was riding a bomb, umm Rodeo Style?

But yes, it is an Air Museum, so you probably want to see some aircrafts, right? Here they are:

Angry Husband took like 200 photos that day. I know you want to see more. Check out my Flickr Account for the rest.

June Gloom

We've had serious June Gloom here in Southern California. It started out in late May and has continued. It slightly rained here several times last week.

I keep seeing everyone post about warm weather, going to the pool, and eating popsicles. I actually wore a jacket into work today.

I'm also gloomy because I'm working swing shift right now, 4pm-2am. I haven't working this shift during the summer since 2006.

While everyone else is having fun, BBQing, and spending time with their families on the weekend, I'm at work. I have Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays off. On Tuesdays, Angry Toddler has The Little Gym, and on Thursdays, I had run club. My run club is out of service for the next few months. I should get a little break until early fall.

I bought Angry Toddler a baseball and a mit last week from Target. We've been taking a sports class through the city for the past month. He still doesn't quite get the throw and catch thing, but we are working on it.

I also got Angry Toddler a new big-boy bicycle. I bought it used from Marisa, whom I met through Twitter actually. Angry Husband's best friend, Eric, was trying to teach Angry Toddler how to ride a 2-wheeler last week. Angry Toddler is doing pretty good. He knows how to use the brakes now. We aren't quite ready to take off the training wheels though.

I went to a Tweet-Up last week at a local restaurant. We talked about our websites, blogs, and Twitter. I met some cool new people. I also learned about TweetChat, as I was complaining about TweetDeck. I go to these meet-ups because I do genuinely like people. Some people in my "normal" life do not get the whole blogging, Twitter thing. Even my own mother is confused by it, but really she can't even check her own e-mail.

Yesterday, Angry Toddler and I started getting a cold. I think it's something to do with the weather and possibly that Angry Husband has had the dogs inside the house all week. My allergies are driving me crazy. Angry Toddler was up all night coughing last night.

Today, I got up extra early and ran the Magic Shoe 5K run. I trained for this run with my favorite people from lululemon's run club. I will have that race report, tomorrow, or the next day.

Maybe, we can get some sunshine here in So. Cal tomorrow. Angry Husband has some things to do all day, so it's just Angry Toddler and me.

Hailing Rain in So. Cal this morning

I'm working overtime at work today. I got sent to Southern Orange County earlier. I was parked (very bad traffic) on the 5 Freeway. All of the sudden it started pouring rain and hailing.

Everyone was freaking out. Apparently, people in Southern California don't know how to drive in the rain.

I finally reached my destination in one piece. But the hail was still all over the ground. I had my camera, of course. So I took a picture.

I'm sorry my Midwestern Friends

I'm sorry that I live in California, and you live in SNOWVILLE USA. It's rainy and cold here today. I want to curl up with a blankie and sit on my couch. But Noooo, I'm sitting here at work, going in and out of the building, driving around in this weather.

So I start my bitching to my friend Shannon, whom lives in BFE Iowa. I complain about the weather and how I'm cold. She laughed at me. I told her it was like 50 degrees. She was like, um 0 degrees is cold here, 50 is warm weather for us right now.

I can't even imagine. I hate being cold. I hate cold weather clothes. I can't wait to run around in shorts and flip flops.

I'm sorry My Midwestern Friends who are sitting in their houses, because they have fricking blizzards outside and can't drive around.

TV and the Internet

Because of the Fires here in Southern California, our local television has been filled with news, news, news. So I got home after being out with the Girls last night, and checked my DVR. Yay! My new favorite show, Private Practice, had recorded.

So I got comfortable in my bed and hit "Play". What do I see? Fire, Fire, Fire..... I all about being informed. Believe me, I'm really concerned about the fires and the victims of the fires.

I just wanted a break from all this. So alas, I could not watch my show last night. I settled for watching the Eleven o'clock news.

So I took Angry Toddler to preschool this morning. I got myself a bow of cereal and sat down at my desk. Woo-hoo!! I can watch the full episode of Private Practice on the Internet. So alas I'm watching it right now in the background while typing this.

Fire

Right now the fires are out of control here in Southern California. I live about 10 miles from one of the main fires, here in Orange County. It would have to jump a main freeway to get to us.

The air quality is awful right now. It's all smokey and dusty.I took Angry Toddler to preschool this morning and they are keeping the students inside. Angry Toddler has asthma and this would not been good for him.

It was really crazy at work last night. We had alot of power transformers go down, which led to signals and power going down. There was like an orange haze over the sky, it was quite scary.

Everyone was having major allergy and sinus problems last night also. I hid most of the night in the building. I hope I can hide in there tonight. I'm going to bring my inhaler just in case, I actually have to work.

Alot of people, I know have been evacuated from their homes. I hope that they can return to their homes soon. Apparently, the fires near my home were set by an arsonist. Some people are soo stupid.

My thoughts go out to the people affected by these fires.
