I Need More Soap

I need more soap is what he screamed from the bathroom. He said that the shower was very dirty and that he needed to clean it. He used an entire bottle of body wash. But I really don't care, because in the end...I had a clean kid, and a clean shower.

The Muffin Man

On Monday night, Angry Husband went on a rampage in the kitchen. I think he was looking for something in the pantry. Our pantry is poorly designed. It's deep and things go lost. Yea, perhaps he found some expired bread and rolls. Sorry, but sometimes it gets lost.

He removed everything and went through it all. You should see our trash can, gross. After all was said and done, he pulled out a bunch of bread and muffin mixes. He said, "make these". That was on the top of my list at 7pm, after working all day. So what does he do? He starts making chocolate chip muffins. I was laughing. He's usually the cook, so this is nothing new. But I almost wanted to put an apron on him.

Angry Toddler was very excited about the pantry clean-up. He immediately started digging in.

Cleaning Out The Fridge

packagedmeat
Yesterday, Angry Husband pulled out some ground meat from the freezer and put it in the refrigerator to thaw out. We were going to make spaghetti for dinner. Angry Toddler was spending the night at my parents and we were just going to chill at home.

We got settled last night after I came home from work, and after he decompressed after a long day with the Angry Toddler. He pulled out the meat from the fridge and opened the package. He immediately said, "come here, you need to smell this, I don't think it's good." So I dragged myself to the kitchen. You would think it was far, but really it was five feet away. I agreed with him. We looked at the packaging and could not find a date/timeline on the meat. We decided to pull out another package from the freezer, and another, and another. I think we pulled out five packages of ground meat. We had stuff dated from June and July, and then there were the random dates like good until Thursday. Umm, which Thursday? Last Thursday? Thursday in May?

We pulled out the trash bag and dumped it all in there. He then pulled out a package of chicken. He says, "Julie, chicken thighs, really?" Heck, I don't know why I bought chicken thighs. I'm random sometimes.

But with all this bad meat, we were faced with a problem. You see, we live in a homeowner's association. The kind of association that drives around in golf carts stalking you for violations. One of the rules is no visible trash cans. With the way the entrance to our backyard is located, we have to keep our trash cans located in our garage. Just imagine the smell of bad meat in our garage. Our trash guy doesn't come till Thursday.

All of the sudden, I swear I got one of those cartoon lightbulbs over my head. I opened the garage. Angry Husband asked what I was doing. I was problem solving.

You see, we live near a park. A park that is policed daily by the HOA people in their golf carts. I promptly deposited our bag of bad meat in the trash can at the park, and ran back into my house. They clean the trash cans every day at the park. Can you imagine the smell that the meat would make in my garage? I passed a lady walking her dog on the way back. She was probably wondering why this barefoot girl was wandering in the park in her pajama bottoms in the dark. I didn't make eye contact.

We have a new rule that we came up with. When we buy meat now, we are going to write the date that we bought the meat on the package with a Sharpie. It will be easier to keep track of it then.

Over Usage of Mr. MacBook

Ever since I bought my new MacBook, I take it everywhere with me. It's attached to my hip. I use it for everything. I have everything integrated into it now. I rarely use my PC anymore. Too bad that we are still making payments on it. I think Angry Husband is over the PC now.

Unfortunately, he still has to use the PC to program remote controls for work, etc. He also likes to play computer games, and he says that it takes forever for them to be on Apple. His loss. He barely knows how to work Mr. MacBook, which is probably a good thing.

I have sort of a problem though. With all of my usage of Mr. MacBook, it's starting to look a little icky. I'm completely freaked out about cleaning it. I don't want to screen the beautiful screen on it.

This is what I texted Angry Husband last night:

Umm, what do I use to clean the MacBook?

His response:

A micro-fiber cloth

My response:

Well I've done that. But how do I get all the water spots off the screen and the ick off the keyboard?

His respose:

My response:

Do we have any? Where do I buy it?

Well folks, I came home early in the morning and found a bottle of it on our kitchen table. Angry Husband bought it at Best Buy.
Angry Husband works in the home theater biz. He has me completely freaked out about cleaning our monitors, LCDs, and Plasmas in the house. He says that you ALWAYS should clean them with a micro-fiber cloth and a product like Monster ScreenClean or something similar. He has seen so many TVs damaged from using the wrong products on them.

Spring Cleaning

I'm in the midst of it right now.

I've been on a roll for about three weeks now. Exactly when I started my vacation. I do this every year, without fail. I purge, I organize, I recycle, I sell. This is what Julie does. I'm pretty successful at it too. I've even had Angry Husband join in. I've sold over a $1000 worth of stuff on Craig's List. I've gone to Tar-jay and bought some organizing accessories. I've thrown away a ton of stuff. So much trash that I had to take my stuff to my friend's business trash dumpster yesterday. My trash was FULL.

But after going through boxes in the garage, I found the following items:

1. Outfits for our dogs. We got the dogs about a year before Angry Toddler. They were well dressed. These outfits included Halloween costumes.
2. Pictures. Of me, not soo skinny..Almost want to burn them.
3. Exercise equipment. Including my broken-in softball glove that I got in the 6th grade.
4. Bags. I seem to collect bags from the stores at the mall. (You know, the nice handled ones.)

I found a ton of stuff that either I was looking for and/or I didn't need.

Angry Husband has been telling his partner at work about all of my cleaning, selling, etc. His partner asked if there was something going on between us. Angry Husband replied, "Nope, this is Julie. She does this every Spring."

Office is CLEAN!

I forgot to post these pictures the other day. I hope you all remember when I posted pictures of my messy office a couple of weeks ago. Well most of it was toys we had taken away from Angry Toddler and my e-bay piles.

Angry Toddler has been really good lately. It must be that we are soo focused on potty training. Plus, I got ALL of my auctions done. I'm extremely excited. I'm soo ready for Fall to begin now.

I thought I would post some AFTER pictures for you all to see!

Spring Cleaning!

It was a beautiful day today, so I got some cleaning and organizing done.

First of all, my cleaning peeps came. Does that count as me cleaning? I mean cleaning got done, just because I didn't scrub the floors. I went through my closet and took out some of my old-too big clothes. I think did the big closet change over in Angry Toddler's closet. It's getting warmer here so I added in the shorts outfits.

and I got ALL, I mean ALL of our laundry done. I feel FAN-TAB-U-LOUS about that.

I also put some things up for sale on the forums. Yippee!!

Day 2

Well, it's January 2nd.

Last night, I decided to rip apart our master bedroom closet. I yanked out all the clothes I haven't worn in like 2 years. I made the husband go through his stuff too. Really, one man doesn't need 50 black t-shirts. I don't care if they have Bettie Page on them.

Then I moved onto my shoes. I have to put my shoes in the garage since we live in such a small house. Thank you California for you're high prices and little square footage. I wear a size 9. I had shoes ranging from a 7 to a 9. Umm, let's just say I have room for more shoes.

Angry Toddler is finally well. That was exciting for both Angry Husband and I. He ate some solid food yesterday.

I got up this morning and started off cleaning. My cleaning people come today, but I always pre-clean, the husband doesn't understand that. I picked up the million toys in our front room, and tossed them all into a tote.

Edited to add: The husband took Angry Toddler to PRESCHOOL today. Woo-hoo, school is back in session. Time to write out the huge tuition check.

I fluttered around and then the cleaning people finally arrived. Nothing feels better than have a clean, quiet house.

After they leave, I'm going to Home Depot. AH and I decided last night that we need more storage racks in our garage. I'm tired of tripping over Home Theater install crap in our garage. Besides, the fact that he can never find what he's looking for in his big mess of tools.

I hope that this year brings more organization and less chaos to the household.

Only two more swing shifts for me, and then I'm working day shift. Which means no more 2am blog posts, cause Angry Julie will be sleeping!!!!
