The Saga of my Hair

I give up, yet again. I try to grow out my hair a little bit, and then I get annoyed with it. I have naturally curly hair. BUT, it's curly at the bottom. And it also gets puffy on top. My hair is complete drama. And, I admit I'm lazy. I like to put some hair goop in it, and go. So I made an appointment with my hair dude, Richard, and cut it off again. I need to get my roots colored too, anyone want to loan me some money for my color? My birthday is coming up next month!

Oh, and I did a whrrl story about my haircut. You can see it HERE!

Recovering from my Weekend

I haven't had the focus or concentration to really blog all weekend. I have lots of things to blog about. I've even made some lists of potential blog topics. But, I just can't quite sit down and type.

I'm still in a bi-polar love/hate relationship with my hair. Yes, it will grow. There is actually a length that I want it to get to. I have a picture on my desk at home, with me and an ex-friend, S. I think I'm going to wait for about 4 weeks for the next haircut. That will be around my birthday. Ye gads, I can't have another tragic haircut, the week of my birthday.

I'm soo very tired right now, but I will try and plow through some posts. I've been working weekend nights since early September and it's killing me. My body is fighting soo hard to adjust. I can't figure out when to work out, what times to eat, how long to sleep, yet even do laundry. Even Angry Husband mentioned today that I've really cut down on my workouts.

I didn't leave work until 4am, Monday morning. This is not good. I sleep until 11:30am-ish, which only gave me a few hours before I had to return to work again. Angry Husband was already running around cleaning the house. I sorted the laundry and began marinating Angry Toddler's laundry. I call it "marinating" because, I have to pick through every single thing that he wears, looking for stains, and using stain products on the stains.

I then decided that I would do a "tiny" run, like 3 miles or something. I turned on the TV in the garage and hopped on the treadmill. At about mile 2, the treadmill completely shut down. I freaked. I screamed for Angry Husband. Did he hear me? Nope. Damn Marine Corps made him lose hearing....although I secretly think he tunes me out. About 30 minutes later, he went and looked at the treadmill. He said that I tripped a breaker or something. He then mumbled something about re-wiring the garage electrical outlets, or something.

I was really freaking about the treadmill. I have a membership to 24-Hour Fatness. But really sometimes, I had getting all dressed up in my gym clothes, so that I can come out of there looking like a drowned rat. I much prefer running on my home treadmill in my shorts and whatever is available sports bra. No one can see my muffin top, well no one, except our dogs.

I got a little pro-active today though. I laid out my gym clothes for tomorrow. As soon as I get up, I'm going to roll into my gym clothes, and head to 24 Hour Fatness. I have a date with the elliptical and some weights.

Ugh, my hair is tooo short now!

I swear everytime I go to the hairdresser, my hair gets shorter and shorter. With this short hair, I got every 2 weeks to get it trimmed. Mostly the back of my hair needs cleaning up. My hairdresser went a little crazy with the damn scissors yesterday.

I didn't think it was that short, until today. I started putting some texturizing stuff in it and freaked. Seriously, you all are going to have to start calling my Julian or Julius until it grows out some more.

I was telling Londie on the cell about how short it was. She was trying to reassure me. Well I wanted to show her exactly, how damn short it was. I took a picture of it with my Blackberry. This is the response I got, "Ooooh wow. That is short!!!"

I told my hairdresser that I'm trying to grow it out a little longer on top. Me thinks he got carried away with the scissors. I swear I'm going to have to wear a ton of make-up and earrings now.

Here is the picture, I sent Londie. Gotta love my beautiful work uniform. I was sitting in the van at a park.

Here is me, about two weeks ago at the Pumpkin Patch with Angry Toddler.

The Haircut

So we (Angry Husband and myself) decide that Angry Toddler needs a haircut. I call our local kid's haircutting place. This is the place we've always gone to. We secure an appointment at 12pm. The place has moved a little farther so I told AH that we need to leave a little sooner than usual.

We are still trying to figure out why the place moved from the convenient mall location to this harder to find location near the beach with no parking.

We get there and park our car. AH walks in and already gets an annoyed look on his face. He gets the feeling that something is not quite right. We tell the receptionist that our appt is 12pm, it's not 12 exactly. She told me that someone was just finishing up and would be right with us. There are two stylists and they both had kids in the chairs (airplanes).

The one lady is finishing up with a little boy. She is just finishing up with a little gel and then the mom speaks. Umm, can I get a little trim also? What the heck, chick, you want to get your hair trimmed at the kid's place? Umm, people are waiting. People whom have an angry toddler who won't sit still. Soo greedy stylist agrees to cut this woman's hair. And this was not a trim, this chick wanted layers and everything!!! Angry Husband got that annoyed, let's leave look on his face.

So we patiently wait for second chick. She is finishing cutting a little girl's hair, then she proceeds to put the girl's hair in pigtails, which were very cute.

So finally at 12:30, we plop AT down in second stylist's airplane chair. The husband attempts to tell her how we want our son's haircut. An experienced stylist would understand what my husband was trying to tell them. This chick looked at my husband like he was speaking a foreign language. And this is what he said, can we use a 1 in the back (clippers with a big guard), and fade up the back to a 3 (bigger guard), then use scissors on the top to thin it out. It's really really really easy to do.

Well the chick started throwing baby powder all over AT's shoulders (we had removed his shirt, cause he hates the smock thingy). Then she grabs the clippers and starts randomly cutting my son's hair. The way she was cutting it made no sense at all. She finally finished with the scissors on top. This was the crappiest haircut I have ever seen my son get. Then, I can't believe it, I actually went and paid $20 for this mess.

The mommy whom was getting her haircut was still there after we left.

Angry Husband got in the car and looked at me, and said, "What kind of haircut was that?" I said, I know, two more weeks and he's going to need it cut again. This kid can usually go 6-8 weeks. AH also said, PLEASE find another place to get his haircut, we are NOT going back there....

So the moral of the story is; Why would any woman in her 30's want to get her hair butchered by these clowns who can't even cut a 2 year old boy's hair?
