Missing Photo Album

If you were my puffy fabric covered photo album from my Sorority Days, where would you be?

All my Blogging ladies are posting some funny as shit pictures from early 1990's Sorority Days. I want to post also.

I know the album is here somewhere. Plus there are lots of incriminating photographs in there.

Ugh, must keep looking.

Halloween Par-tay!

I attended (2) Halloween parties this past Saturday. I wore my flapper costume. I was quite conservative compared to some of my counterparts. I thought I would share some of my pictures. I'm including one of Monqiue and I. Mo is my running pal and I have posted pictures of her before. I could post a ton more pictures, but you know, working in law enforcement and such...some people are actually undercover.

At the beginning of the parties!

Getting my drink on!

Ok, so I had a few drinkee-poos!

We all had some good times!!! I haven't drank like that in a long time and I definately felt it the next day.

Photobucket

Ugh, I'm trying to post pictures to posts in my blog. Photobucket is pissing me off. The pictures are coming out HUGE!!! This is soo frustrating.

Stay tuned!

Halloween Costumes

Well we finally decided on Halloween costumes. Angry Toddler has changed his mind about 50 times since August. That's what happens when you are 3. I had to purchase costumes for Angry Toddler and myself.

I decided to go to the local Halloween store last Friday night. I had the full intentions of not walking out of there without a costume. I had to also buy a costume for me since I will be attending a party on Saturday, the 25th. Actually, it seems that I will be attending 2 parties now. I'm going with friends from work. Angry Husband is going go to stay home with Angry Toddler, cause he really doesn't like to hang with my work peeps. Hanging around with a bunch of cops kinda gives him a headache.

I tried on this Tinkerbell costume first. I really wanted to be Tinkerbell. I thought it be cute with my short hair. I was going to spray some glitter in it. After trying it on, I realized how see-through, it really was. I would have to wear some kind of nude colored bodysuit underneath. I'm trying to be frugal with my costume. I don't need to keep adding all these extra accessories on.

I then tried on this Dorothy costume. It looked cute in the package. Well the skirt was really super duper short. Plus, there was this itchy petticoat underneath it. I then went to tie up the bodice, and there was lots of space. Very sad, my boobies did not fill up the front.

I settled on this Flapper costume. It was perfect. It went with my short hair. I could sit down in it. I could actually move it in. Plus, it was under $40. I got some fishnet tights to go with it. Now, I just need to find some black heels and I'm set.

After I was done trying on all my costumes in the fitting room, it was time to look for Angry Toddler. I called Angry Husband at home. I gave told him to ask Angry Toddler what he wants to be. I told him that I would call back in 5 minutes looking for a decision. Angry Husband promptly came back with a Jedi. That was a good and very easy decision. We already have a light saber. There's no hat. There's no mask. PERFECT!

I will be sure and post pictures once the costumes are worn!

The Hills

I was catching up on my TV shows via the Internet last night at work. I had missed two episodes of MTV's "The Hills" . Apparently my DVR at home did not tape them. MTV has a pretty good viewer online. Actually, I think it is one of the better sites to view full episodes. Usually there are no breaks in the shows, and they don't lock up.

I'm really getting sick of the "The Hills". It is truely a train wreck. They attempt to call this a reality show, but I don't think there's much reality to it. Seriously, it's really really bad acting.

Everyone is starting to get on my nerves. It seems like they "set-up" the people to be in certain situations. It's like, today, we are going to talk about "this topic", etc. I can't stand Heidi and Spencer. They are the most fake people on that show. Does anyone actually work? Besides the fake jobs that MTV created for these people.

I still do love Lauren Conrad though. She has let fame go to her head, but I feel in love with her when she was on Laguna Beach. Boy has she changed from her high school days.

Saturday Morning with the Kiddos

In my previous post about Fashion Island, I stated that I would add in some photos of the kiddos. Stella is Angry Toddler's BFF. He's known her since birth. Well she is 2 months older.

Stacey and I love watching them grow up together. It's soo damn cute. I really love our Saturday morning tradition that we've started. Even though, I'm half awake, and my hair usually looks like a rooster.

They really tire each other out. Usually on Saturdays, Angry Toddler takes a 4-5 hour nap. Seriously, I don't know why, but Stella really tires him out.

Just getting to the mall, they were very excited. We told them to hold hands and they obliged us.

We told them to hug each other. Can't you just feel the love in this picture?

Angry Toddler's version of a hug. I think he will be an outstanding football player.

You can really see Angry Toddler's military-style haircut in these pics. His jeans are rolled up cause they were way too big. They were a size 4T, and he's definately a 3T. The poor child has extremely short legs like my side of the family. I only have a 26 inch inseam. We were at the mall to buy him some jeans. I didn't have any clean ones for him to wear.

Fashion Island

I had to devote a post just to talk about a local mall. We have several malls around here in Orange County. My BFF, Stacey and I, decided we needed to take a trip to Fashion Island, here in Newport Beach. Both of our kiddos needed jeans. We were being cheapskates, and headed to Fashion Island to go visit the local, The Chilren's Place. Seriously $11.00 for a pair of jeans is a good deal. Angry Toddler has been wearing jeans almost every day for the past week. I love babyGap's jeans, but at $24.50, they get quite expensive.

Stacey drove us all to the mall. She knows that I'm barely awake on Saturdays. She put her extra carsear in her Volvo, so Angry Toddler can have somewhere to sit. He loves that pink Britax Regent. She parked on the top level of the parking structure. It was a beautiful day in Newport Beach. I usually have a camera in my purse, so I had to pull it out to take the pictures below. Seriously, this was the view from the parking structure.

As I was taking pictures of our view, I looked down. I saw a huge dirt lot. There used to be a Macy's Women's store at the place of the dirt lot. I got a little tear in the corner of my eye. I used to work loss prevention at this paarticular Macy's. I would actually call it the start of my law enforcement career. Anyway, I looked further, and got the most fantastic feeling in my chest. YESSSS!!! They are building a brand new Nordstrom. It will be finished in 2010. Yes, that' over a year away. But all my favorite stores will pretty much be at this mall. I love walking around here. There is some awesome people watching.

I'm going to do a seperate post to show some photos of the kiddos while we were shopping.

Recovering from my Weekend

I haven't had the focus or concentration to really blog all weekend. I have lots of things to blog about. I've even made some lists of potential blog topics. But, I just can't quite sit down and type.

I'm still in a bi-polar love/hate relationship with my hair. Yes, it will grow. There is actually a length that I want it to get to. I have a picture on my desk at home, with me and an ex-friend, S. I think I'm going to wait for about 4 weeks for the next haircut. That will be around my birthday. Ye gads, I can't have another tragic haircut, the week of my birthday.

I'm soo very tired right now, but I will try and plow through some posts. I've been working weekend nights since early September and it's killing me. My body is fighting soo hard to adjust. I can't figure out when to work out, what times to eat, how long to sleep, yet even do laundry. Even Angry Husband mentioned today that I've really cut down on my workouts.

I didn't leave work until 4am, Monday morning. This is not good. I sleep until 11:30am-ish, which only gave me a few hours before I had to return to work again. Angry Husband was already running around cleaning the house. I sorted the laundry and began marinating Angry Toddler's laundry. I call it "marinating" because, I have to pick through every single thing that he wears, looking for stains, and using stain products on the stains.

I then decided that I would do a "tiny" run, like 3 miles or something. I turned on the TV in the garage and hopped on the treadmill. At about mile 2, the treadmill completely shut down. I freaked. I screamed for Angry Husband. Did he hear me? Nope. Damn Marine Corps made him lose hearing....although I secretly think he tunes me out. About 30 minutes later, he went and looked at the treadmill. He said that I tripped a breaker or something. He then mumbled something about re-wiring the garage electrical outlets, or something.

I was really freaking about the treadmill. I have a membership to 24-Hour Fatness. But really sometimes, I had getting all dressed up in my gym clothes, so that I can come out of there looking like a drowned rat. I much prefer running on my home treadmill in my shorts and whatever is available sports bra. No one can see my muffin top, well no one, except our dogs.

I got a little pro-active today though. I laid out my gym clothes for tomorrow. As soon as I get up, I'm going to roll into my gym clothes, and head to 24 Hour Fatness. I have a date with the elliptical and some weights.

Ugh, my hair is tooo short now!

I swear everytime I go to the hairdresser, my hair gets shorter and shorter. With this short hair, I got every 2 weeks to get it trimmed. Mostly the back of my hair needs cleaning up. My hairdresser went a little crazy with the damn scissors yesterday.

I didn't think it was that short, until today. I started putting some texturizing stuff in it and freaked. Seriously, you all are going to have to start calling my Julian or Julius until it grows out some more.

I was telling Londie on the cell about how short it was. She was trying to reassure me. Well I wanted to show her exactly, how damn short it was. I took a picture of it with my Blackberry. This is the response I got, "Ooooh wow. That is short!!!"

I told my hairdresser that I'm trying to grow it out a little longer on top. Me thinks he got carried away with the scissors. I swear I'm going to have to wear a ton of make-up and earrings now.

Here is the picture, I sent Londie. Gotta love my beautiful work uniform. I was sitting in the van at a park.

Here is me, about two weeks ago at the Pumpkin Patch with Angry Toddler.

Procrastinating

I'm being totally lazy today. I'm catching up on my DVR'ed shows. I'm blogging and reading my favorite blogs.

I have a hair appointment at 11:30, it's now 10:20. This damn short hair. I have to get it cut every 2 weeks for it to look decent. It sucks. I'm letting it grow out a little longer on top though.

I have laundry and cleaning to do, but I don't want to start.

My mom was being her total bi-polar self as usual. She was flipping out about some spider she saw in her house last night. She's convinced that it bit her and it's poisonous. DRAMA! I was like, uh huh, uh huh, ok. Then she started bitching about the stick market again. My mom has never bought any stocks on her own. All the stocks that my mom has were my grandma's. I kept telling my mom that she needs to diversify her portfolio cause she has no clue about the stocks that she has. She continued to bitch about how much shopping we (her and I) do and how we need to stop. I haven't been shopping with my mom for at least a month. She goes on and on...

Then she tells me to meet her at Victoria's Secret at 2pm. She gets off work at 2pm and wants to go shopping there. I've been complaining about not having any bras that fit me lately. With weight loss, comes smaller boobies for Angry Julie. So I guess she's back to shopping again.

I suppose I will motivate myself to do some things when I get back from the mall.

Holiday Wear

I got addicted to custom clothing about 2 years ago, because of my pal, Londie. I loved all the cute Holiday-themed things we got. Unfortunately, Angry Toddler has become quite picky now that he's 3. Also, it seems that the customs that I purchased before have come quite expensive.

Manisha posted a comment the other day on my blog asking if I had gotten Angry Toddler any special custom tees for the Holidays. Actually, I have. My BFF and gal pal, Stacey, called me the other day. She told me that the children's boutique near her business was having a sale. She called for my approval. Ha, which is funny, cause she totally knows my taste. She picked up two tees from the brand, Haute Boyz. They are a local brand, right out of the O.C. I first heard of Haute Boyz when I went to the Junior League's Christmas Company, a few years ago. I love their stuff.

Here are the shirts that Stacey picked up for Angry Toddler.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta

I finally got a chance to sit down and watch this show. I had a couple of episodes saved on my DVR. I'm a huge fan of "The Real Housewives of Orange County". I really could not connect with "The Real Housewives of New York".

I'm still unsure on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta". I think this show is like a train wreck. Seriously, these women love to flaunt their money. I thought New York was bad, but I think this "new money" Atlanta wins the prize for most flaunting the money. The Orange County girls liked to flaunt their "things" more than anything.

There is also a "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" being filmed. Apparently, "The Real Housewives" is a kind of franchise. Every show has a different film production and crew taping them.

Here's the background on the cast of Atlanta (from Bravo):

DeShawn Snow
-- Snow and her husband Eric, captain of the Cleveland Cavaliers, recently moved to their dream home in Alpharetta, GA. Mother to three boys: nine-year-old EJ, six-year-old Darius and five-year-old Jarren, Snow is an active member of the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. She exercises her faith by running The DeShawn Snow Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on improving self-esteem in teenage girls. She is a regular on the Atlanta social circuit and extremely active in local philanthropy, sitting on the board of three different charities, all while expertly juggling her busy social calendar with being an NBA wife and keeping up with her boys.

Kim Zolciak -- Zolciak lives in an exclusive gated townhouse community in Duluth, GA with her two children, 11-year-old Brielle and six-year-old Ariana. Zolciak is single, but happily dating with hopes to marry again in the near future. She also has her sights set on fame in the music business as a country singer, and is currently working with Grammy award-winning mega-producer Dallas Austin and will begin recording an album later this year. A staple on the Atlanta scene, Zolciak balances life as a single mom with a vivacious social life.

Lisa Wu Hartwell
-- Hartwell, a resident of a luxurious country club community in Duluth, GA, is a busy career woman who wears many hats - she owns her own real estate firm, Hartwell & Associates, a jewelry line called Wu Girls, a baby clothing line, Hart 2 Hart Baby, and juggles a budding acting, modeling and writing career. She's a devoted wife to her husband, NFL player Ed Hartwell, and their three children 13-year-old Jordan, ten-year-old Justin and one-year-old EJ. When she's not running one of her many businesses or running after the kids, Hartwell is very active in Atlanta's social scene.

NeNe Leakes
-- Leakes is an active member of Atlanta society. She resides in the upscale Sugarloaf area of Atlanta with her husband Gregg, a successful real estate investor and business consultant, and their two sons, 18-year-old Brice and nine-year-old Brentt. Leakes donates her time to various foundations and is the founder of The Twisted Hearts Foundation, which brings awareness to domestic violence against women. Never one to sit still, the outspoken social butterfly also hopes to open a luxury boutique hotel in the very near future.

Sheree Whitfield -- Single socialite Whitfield, a resident of the exclusive Sandy Springs area of Atlanta, juggles her busy home life with a packed social calendar. She is a busy working mother to three children -Tierra, Kairo and Kaleigh. Whitfield prides herself on her fashion sense, and owned her own upscale clothing boutique - Bella Azul - for years before closing up shop to focus on her next business venture, a clothing line called "She by Sheree." Whitfield is opening a new chapter in her life as a single mom while balancing her entrepreneurial spirit and active social life.

I'm going to keep watching this. It's on Tuesdays on Bravo. Check your local listings for times.

Nike "Tempo" Track Shorts

With all my running lately, I've purchased some workout clothes. I thought I would share some running shorts that I feel in love with. They are the Nike "Tempo" Track shorts. Usually I have to wear compression shorts under my running shorts. I have "bigger" thighs. If I don't wear compression shorts, I spent 1/2 my run pulling my shorts out of my thighs.

I have worn these shorts a couple of times and I'm in love. They are cut perfectly. They don't ride up and I don't have to pull them out of my thighs. They are decently priced too. They average around $28.

Etsy

Etsy is the new cool place for handmade things. I love soo many things on there. I have all kinds of stores saved as my favorites. I thought I might share some of my recent purchases.

Holy Pumpkins Address Labels
-The seller shipped these soo fast. They are perfect for my Halloween cards. I will be buying more from here. I love the look of round labels.

Childrens Capes Custom Superhero Kid Cape
-Angry Toddler wanted a Superhero Cape in a catalog. The thing was like $50. Seriously, too expensive. I knew I could find a cape somewhere cheaper and probably much better quality. I like this cape. I had it done with a star and Angry Toddler's first initial.

Tropical Mommy Calling Cards or Business Cards

-I always have people at Angry Toddler's preschool asking me for my 411. It's really nice to have something to give to them. I actually ended up giving these out at a Junior League meeting recently, cause I didn't have any of my work business cards on me. These are great quality, and they shipped really fast.

Vintage Everyday Housewife Apron
-I purchased this for Angry Husband's cousin as a wedding shower gift. She is into all things vintage. She loved it. I actually had Londie help me in picking out. I love the color scheme too.

Virus

The Angry Household has been struck with a virus. A computer virus that is. I haven't posted in two days cause our main computer somehow got a nasty virus. It is slowly attacking out system. Angry Husband is still using the computer, but I'm not going to use any programs that use a password.

I have my laptop but unfortunately, my power cord was at work. I went home sick Sunday night with a major sinus infection/issues I think. My head and eyeballs felt like the were going to explode. I felt like I had a brain tumor. Anywho, I ran out of there as soon as I could.

I called in sick yesterday. I woke up and my head still hurt. I went to use my laptop and within 15 minutes, it died. I realized that my power cord and all my other cords were still in my drawer at work.

I went into work today and got everything. My boss gave me suggestions for trying to get rid of the virus. I called Angry Husband and told him. Angry Husband said that he is going to have the Geek Squad look at the computer also.

I'm feeling a little better. I just need to stay inside. It's really yucky and windy here right now. This is driving my allergies crazy.

Britax Regent

So I went shopping Friday morning with my mom. We went to our local baby store to check out the restraint systems carseats for Angry Toddler. My mom kept asking when he could he fit into a booster like our friend's daughter. Umm, this kid is going to be in a 5-point booster seat as long as he fits in one.

I see all kinds of car accidents daily at work. I'm a total car seat freak. Everyone at work sees the same car accidents, yet they put their kids in crappy seats. I just don't get it.

We ended up getting the Britax Regent. It's a great seat and goes to 80 lbs. Angry Husband helped me install it in the Tahoe. We centered it in the rear bench seat. It's alot better than my previous seat, a Britax Marathon.

I left my Tahoe with Angry Husband last night so that he could put AT in the new seat and try it out. AH said that AT did not like the seat and he wanted his old one back. Well gee, I wonder why? Angry Toddler was pissed because he couldn't figure out how to get out of his carseat. I thought that it was very funny.

I took Angry Toddler for a haircut earlier this morning. He sat in the seat fine. I even asked him if he liked the seat. He said he liked the seat and that it was just like Stella's. Stella is the daughter of my BFF, Stacey.

Oh and the haircut, he asked for it to be short in the back and spikey on the top. He looks like he came straight out of the US Marine Corps Bootcamp. Actually, he kinda reminded me of Angry Husband when I met him. Angry Grandma, my mom, flipped when she saw his hair. She thinks that we should grow it out. Umm, nooo, he has major cowlicks in the back.

Engineer or Career Criminal?

I think these are the future career options for Angry Toddler.

Seriously, this kid is very smart and figures out how things work easily. Last year, we got a new carseat, a Britax Marathon. Well, there's a flap on the front on the front of the carseat. The flap covers a metal mechanism which ables you to loosen the chest straps and/or make them tighter. He figured out how to reach forward, and un-velcro it within a week of getting the carseat. So he was able to loosen the straps and get out of the seat. I promptly used some industrial thread and sewed the flap down.

Well about two weeks ago, Angry Toddler figured out how to completely removed the cover while he was strapped in, so he can reach the metal lever to release himself once again. I've tried everything and there's no way I can secure the cover to make it safe. So I am going to go shop for another carseat today. Angry Husband did not believe me that Angry Toddler was doing this again. Well he saw it first hand last night. I can't drive around with AT doing this, it's not safe.

Here is a picture of how the carseat looked after I dropped him off at preschool this morning. This happened during a 5 minute car ride.

This is not the first time, we've had to deal with the Little Evil Genius. We've had to Angry Toddler Proof anything. I went around our house and took some pictures of how we've had to make "improvements" in our security.

Let's start with the kitchen/dining room area:

We had to tie the chairs to the dining room table. He would take the chairs and move them around the house. He would use them to climb into things and over the baby gates. He would also pull them up to our salt water fish tank so he could dumb things into the tank. Not a good thing. Angry Husband used some rope and tied all four chairs to the base of the kitchen table.

Next would be the baby gates for the actual kitchen entrances. There is a fixed one in the hallway. We had to put a screw in it, to permanently keep it closed. Angry Toddler figured out how to open it. The main kitchen entrance one is secured closed with a black zip tie. Angry Toddler knows how to open it and we had to secure it closed with the zip tie. Now we have to hop over it to get into the kitchen. When Angry Toddler is not home, we cut off the zip tie and leave it open.

He also figured out how to open door locks. He knew how to unlock the access door between the garage and the house. We caught him one day. He unlocked both locks and went into the garage. He then figured out how to pop the garage door open.

We had to mount the garage door button higher. Angry Husband also had to flip the locks on the access door. There is now a keyed lock on the inside of the house. We put the key on a hook way above the door so that Angry Toddler cannot reach it. It's a real pain in the butt, but at least he can't get out.

Office:

We have a gate across the office also. He loves to get into our computer equipment. We used to have a screw holding the gate closed permanently. We took the screw out because he hasn't realized that the screw is gone.

And one of my favorite pictures of all time. Angry Toddler "breaking into" the bathroom. We used to lock all the interior doors in our house. This was before he was potty trained. Now that he's trained, we leave the doors open. But he found a screwdriver one day, and used it to unlock the door.

Halloween at Williams-Sonoma

I get snazzy e-mails from Williams-Sonoma probably every day. They like to spam like Pottery Barn. Gee, I wonder, they are from the same parent company. I unsubscribed from Pottery Barn's e-mails a couple of months ago.

These have these items featured for Halloween. They look yummy. I don't know though. I worry about the freshness of the items. Has anyone ever bought their pre-made goodies from online or through their catalog.

I love Williams-Sonoma though. I would buy more stuff from there, but I don't cook enough, I mean cook. I couldn't justify all the great stuff.

My son's imagination

I love kids and their stories. Angry Toddler loves to tell stories. Most of them do not make sense. He's very fictional.

Well this morning I dropped him off at pre-school. His teacher asked if we were going camping? I laughed at said, "Umm no". She told me that he only took short naps the past two days because after wake-up time, we were going to pick him up and take him camping.

Where does he get this from? Angry Husband does want to go camping. We've been talking about it for awhile. Both we both agreed to wait until Angry Toddler was fully potty trained and that we wanted to buy the camping equipment first.

Yea, and I'm still trying to recover from my first and only camping trip from 1994. The Kappa Sig Spring Break River Trip. This was a Fraternity planned river/camping trip. Um, Julie does not camp. My sorority sister, Suzanne, and I purchased a tent especially for this trip. We were 18 year old college freshman. Our first priority was drinking lots of beer. They even had special mugs made for the trip. You know those Fraternities and their beer mugs. Well we made it through Day 1 of the trip. It was hot, sticky, and dirty. We all chipped in for a hotel room in town. We rented that hotel room to take hot showers. So much for camping.

Angry Husband wants to know why I never want to camp. Well duh, I don't like getting dirty like that. I think I would need one of those $100,000 recreational vehicles to go camping. Poor Angry Toddler, maybe he can go camping with daddy....

Pumpkin Patch

Angry Toddler, Angry Husband, and I went to the Pumpkin Patch on Saturday. We went with my BFF Stacey, and her daughter, Stella. I think we are starting a Saturday morning ritual. The kiddos had a great time. I took like 400 pictures, just trying to get one decent picture. Angry Toddler kept turning his head, or running away. I would like to get some decent pictures, just once.

Angry Toddler and Stella got to go into the bounce house and the train ride also. They really liked it. Angry Toddler kept kicking the pumpkins though. He was kicking them like soccer balls.

Here are some pictures of our fabulous Saturday morning.
